- Why did I find this note?

     HelloVoter is a coalition of individual voters from all walks of life, all political parties, & all political ideologies, all of whom agree that gas prices have simply gotten too high. And what’s more, we all believe that President Obama has not exercised his authority in ways that would help to alleviate this problem. In fact, in many ways, we believe he has even made the situation worse.
     Of course we fully realize & acknowledge that no President is a god. No president has absolute authority – or absolute responsibility – over gas prices.
     But presidents absolutely have a role to play in the price we all pay at the pump. HelloVoter is determined to help other voters realize in what ways President Obama ‘s decisions have affected those prices.
     That’s why you found that note. A fellow voter in your neighborhood hoped you might be interested in learning more.

- Who posted the note?

     I honestly don’t know! HelloVoter does not track the names of each individual who chooses to participate. We merely encourage voters to speak their minds.
     We also don’t in any way control what each voter chooses to write on their note. We do offer a few suggestions. We have sample notes they can either copy or use as inspiration. There’s also a plethora of quotes, statistics, historical references, & vital industry information they can use as they see fit.
     But ultimately the decision to participate & the decision about what to include in each note is up to the individual voter who decided to put pen to paper.

     The only absolute rule we do ask participants to stick to is that they keep the notes kind, civil, pleasant, & neighborly. If you found a HelloVoter note that is in any way contrary to those ideals, we sincerely apologize!
     Furthermore, we would ask that you please contact us to let us know where you found the offending note & what it said. We’ll do our best to try to track down the culprit! This movement is about encouraging civil, friendly debate & discourse! We certainly don’t wish to upset or offend anyone.

- Who runs this site?

     Hello! My name is Heather Lawver & I run this site! I’m 27 years old & I live outside Washington, DC. I’ve been working since I was 14, when I founded a small online children’s charity. But I recently became disabled thanks to a rare genetic disease I was diagnosed with at age 19.
     As far as politics goes, I’m a registered Independent & this is the absolute first time I’ve ever gotten actively involved in politics! (And yes, I’m nervous!!) I’ve voiced opinions here & there, I’ve always voted (never missed an election yet!), but that’s the extent of it.
     But as I’ve watched the events of the past few years, I found I could no longer stay silent. I had to do something. Given my limited means due to my health, I didn’t feel there was much I could do.
     HelloVoter has changed all that. It’s great to feel like even if I’m stuck in bed, mostly confined to my bedroom, I can still have an impact on the outside world.
     But of course, I can’t do it without help!

- Are you affiliated with the Republican party?

     Nope! About the extent of my association with the Republican party is that my Dad’s a Republican. Mom’s a Democrat. And that’s about it.
     This site does NOT accept money from any political party, candidate, PAC, organization, lobbyist, individual, millionaire, billionaire, union, or anything of the sort. The foundation & operation of this site is not in any way affiliated with anyone other than me. I paid for it mostly out of my own pocket, although my parents were kind enough to pay for the domain names.
     And no, my parents aren’t political either. Dad was in the Air Force & is now an independent contractor, Mom’s been a home-maker ever since she had kids. Neither of them have any political experience either!
     Clearly, I’m a bit new at this, so please forgive any obvious flubs. :) I’m trying my best though!
